To our valued Zoosk customers,
There is nothing more important to us than your trust, which is why we want to make you aware of a situation we’re currently looking into. We’re still early in the investigation and don’t have the answer to every question, but we thought you’d want to know what’s going on and what we’re doing about it.
We were recently alerted to a third-party website that contained passwords that may have been used by some of our users. So far, we have not found evidence of our network being compromised. Additionally we have not received reports of unauthorized access to members’ accounts as a result of the information posted to this site.
We take the security of our customers’ information very seriously and that is why we immediately launched a full investigation that is ongoing.
Additionally, in an abundance of caution we will require certain users to reset their Zoosk passwords. If you are one of those users, you will receive an e-mail from us indicating that you need to reset your password. We are also releasing updates to several of our apps to make the password change process easier, so please check for updates.
It is also important that you always take steps to secure your data on any site, including Zoosk, such as the following:
• Avoid using simple passwords based on dictionary or common words
• Never use the same password on multiple sites or services
• Change your password frequently, at least every couple of months
