Zoosk Adds Safeway EVP and CMO Diane Dietz to Board of Directors

Leading Marketing Executive Joins Zoosk Board of Directors 

Zoosk, a leading technology-driven online dating company, today announced the appointment of Safeway Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Diane Dietz to its Board of Directors. As a seasoned executive with decades of experience directing and executing marketing strategies, Dietz will provide guidance to drive subscriptions across Zoosk’s mobile and online dating platforms.

Dietz leads Safeway’s marketing function including advertising, merchandising, supply chain, loyalty and digital strategy as well as the company’s multi-billion dollar private label business.  She also has overall responsibility for the company’s network of 13 distribution centers and 20 manufacturing plants.

Prior to joining Safeway in 2008, Dietz held a 19-year career with Procter & Gamble, where she was credited with rejuvenating the Crest brand, overseeing all aspects of the business unit’s sales, sourcing, marketing, manufacturing, quality control, supply chain, R&D and market research. She also played a lead role in the Gillette acquisition, with responsibility for integrating the Oral B business unit in North America and globally.

Dietz also sits on the Board of Directors for the Whirlpool Corporation. She was the recipient of the Cannes Advertising Bronze Lion Award in 2006, was named one of Advertising Age’s Top 50 Marketers of the Year in 2007, a CMO to watch in 2010, and has been named as one of the Top Women in Grocery every year since joining Safeway (Progressive Grocer).  She was recognized in 2013 as Marketer of the Year by Supermarket News. She holds a B.S. in Marketing & Economics from Northern Illinois University.
