Zoosk Deepens Global Footprint as World’s First Platform-Agnostic Online Dating Service

New iPhone Application and Chat Feature Localized in 20 Languages, Underlining ‘Global’ Commitment.

Zoosk, the world’s first social dating network with more than 50 million users, today announced the Zoosk iPhone application and Zoosk Messenger for desktop chat, localized in multiple languages. Extending the Zoosk experience to new platforms, the social web pioneer has established the most popular global network for singles, which currently monetizes in 52 countries.

Users can enjoy Zoosk across all major social networks – Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Hi5 – as well as mobile devices and the iPhone platform. Today Zoosk adds Zoosk Messenger, developed on the Adobe Air platform for a rich interactive experience on the desktop, and the Zoosk iPhone application, one of the most popular social networking downloads from the App Store, and one of the top three online dating applications on the iPhone.

“As a technology company, we recognized the potential of the social web and web 2.0 technologies to bring singles together from all over the world,” explained Alex Mehr, co-founder and co-CEO of Zoosk. “We continue to push the boundaries of traditional online dating for a more ubiquitous, integrated experience that seamlessly connects singles across networks, platforms and geographies in real time.”

Zoosk harnesses the power of the social web as the first online dating service to cross over diverse social networks to increase the dating pool. A dynamic and highly scalable community, Zoosk has grown from 15 million Zooskers in January 2009 to more than 50 million and remains the #1 dating application on Facebook.

Online dating represents a $4 billion industry worldwide. Zoosk continues to innovate with an un-tethered approach modeled on the social web. Zoosk is the only dating community that allows users to seamlessly connect across multiple social networks on a glocal (global + local) level.
