Want to Make Sure Your Date Looks Like Their Profile Picture?

Zoosk-photo-verification

To take some of the mystery out of online dating, Zoosk recently launched Photo Verification–a new feature that confirms the authenticity of profile pictures. The verification process compares profile photos with private selfie-videos that Zooskers submit. If the video and pictures match, you’ll receive a badge on your profile picture. When other singles see this, they’ll know that your picture looks like you. When you see a badge, you’ll know that your online date looks like their profile picture.

Zoosk is shedding light on the anonymity that online dating may provide, solving one of the top online dating concerns–feelings that your date seriously misrepresented themselves in their profile picture. In an interview with Wired Magazine, Shayan Zadeh, co-founder and CEO of Zoosk, explains why Photo Verification is so important: “We wanted to provide an easy and effective way to give our customers that confidence that when they meet someone there’ll be no surprises,” he says. “As an industry we have to continue to look for ways to help people gain that confidence.”
